Many people associate the Salvation Army with the sound of bells on the sidewalks during Christmas, but the organization does much more. The Salvation Army has played a vital role during the COVID-19 pandemic by helping millions of unemployed and underserved Americans at levels not seen since the Great Depression. The organization says housing is a big priority. The national ban on most evictions and foreclosures has been extended through July, but that's just five weeks away and it's not known what will happen afterwards. Kenneth Hodder, the National Commander of the Salvation Army, joins "Start Your Day" with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill to discuss how their organization is addressing the housing crisis and other needs caused by the pandemic.
